Hip Surgery
hip replacement
Hip replacement is an operation in which the worn hip joint is removed and replaced with an implant. This is most commonly performed to treat severe arthritis of the hip.
Anterior Approach Hip Replacement
The anterior approach is a minimally invasive muscle sparing technique used to perform hip replacement surgery. It is not suitable for all patients.
Revision Hip Surgery
When an old hip replacement becomes worn out or painful it may require further surgery. Any operation to redo a hip replacement is called a revision. This can be anything from a simple change of parts to completely replacing all implants.
Hip Arthroscopy
Hip arthroscopy is the medical term for keyhole hip surgery. This can be helpful to treat a number of conditions such as labral tears or femoro-acetabular impingement (FAI). It is not useful for the treatment of hip arthritis.
Proximal hamstring repair
The proximal hamstring tendons attach the muscles at the back of your thigh to the pelvis. If these are completely torn they may require surgery to reattach the torn tendon.
