Knee Surgery
Knee Arthroscopy
Knee arthroscopy is the name for any keyhole surgery of the knee. This can be used to treat a number of different knee conditions.
ANterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is the operation performed to repair a damaged ACL. The ACL is one of the important ligaments that stabilise the knee during twisting and pivoting movments.
Knee Replacement
A total knee replacement is an operation in which the surfaces of the damaged knee joint are removed, and replaced with a prosthetic implant. This is most commonly performed for advanced osteoarthritis. Computer navigation is used to ensure optimal results from surgery.
Robotic knee replacment
Using cutting edge technology, a robotic arm is used to guide the bone resections during surgery to improve precision and enhance recovery after surgery.
REVISION KNEE REPLACEMENT
A revision knee replacement operation is any surgery in which parts of a previously performed total knee replacement are redone or replaced. This surgery is performed on a worn-out or dysfunctional knee replacement.
Patella stabilisation
A patella stabilisation is an operation to prevent your kneecap dislocating from the groove it runs in at the front of the knee. This may involve reconstruction of a ligament or re-alignment of the patella tendon.
high tibial osteotomy
High tibial osteotomy is an operation for the treatment of arthritis in younger patients, where only part of their knee is affected. The shin bone is cut and re-aligned to take pressure off the worn cartilage, and move it onto the healthy cartilage.
